I work to create things that solve problems and inspire wonder and confidence in people's lives.
I am a broadly-trained biologist focusing on the ecology and conservation of predatory animals, particularly sharks. To that end, I am engaged in numerous projects globally that seek to advance our understanding many of our planet's most exciting and often misunderstood animals.
I founded and today run a successful non-profit organization called Beneath the Waves. We focus on advancing shark conservation through cutting-edge research and work with a variety of foundations, brands, and partners, to advance and amplify our efforts.
Photo + film
Photo and film are tools I use to create stories from my work and travels. When it comes down to communicating the importance of conservation, I find that the ability to foster trust and true interest are multiplied by using personal media and documentation.
I produce and perform electronic music under the name 'Natural Selection." This project helps me connect with people on a whole new level. By DJing, I can see my results immediately, and my partner and I regularly play shows around Miami.
